Kansas City
The M's just can't stop hitting home runs and they've racked up a monster 98 runs for an average of 8.2 runs per game. With a 13-5 victory over the Kansas City Royals on Monday, the Mariners now have the best record in baseball to this point in the year. The @Mariners are so hot right now. Seattle now has 32 home runs-the most of any team in MLB in the first dozen games. Continue to Article

This was the type of win that Detroit fans can be encouraged by — not only did the Tigers rally in the late innings, but one of their top young players delivered the key home run. Porcello only lasted 2 2/3 innings against the Seattle Mariners in his first start of the season. He allowed nine runs, the second-highest total of his Red Sox career (though only four were earned), and struggled with his command, walking four batters and allowing six hits in the game. He is looking to bounce back ahead of his start in Arizona on Friday night and recently commented on his performance in the opener. Continue to Article

Suzuki, who retired last month during MLB's opening series in Japan against the Oakland A's, delivered a message to the Japanese government saying, “I'll strive to be able to receive the award at the end of my life." In a news conference on April 5, Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga said, “Out of respect for his feelings, we decided not to consider bestowing the award in line with his recent retirement." Suga added, "He's a superstar who continues to give many people hopes and dreams, and I look forward to seeing his activities in the future." Continue to Article
