Daniel Vogelbach and Edwin Encarnacion combined for six hits, three home runs and 10 RBIs to back a solid outing from Wade LeBlanc and lead the visiting Seattle Mariners to a 12-5 victory against the Chicago White Sox on Sunday afternoon. Vogelbach was 3-for-4 with two home runs and a career-best six RBIs while Encarnacion had one home run among his three hits and four RBIs as the Mariners won for the ninth time in 11 games to open the season. Mike Clevinger allowed one hit and struck out 10 over five scoreless innings as the host Cleveland Indians completed a four-game series sweep of the Toronto Blue Jays with a 3-1 victory on Sunday afternoon. Cleveland's Tyler Naquin highlighted his three-hit performance with an RBI single in the first inning that plated Carlos Santana, who had a run-scoring double in the previous at-bat to extend his hitting streak to eight games.
