Brad Marchand set this Bruins record with his latest shorthanded goal originally appeared on nbcsportsboston.com Brad Marchand carved his name into the Boston Bruins record book with his shorthanded goal in Sunday night's 6-3 loss to the Detroit Red Wings. Marchand scored his 26th career shorthanded tally in the second period, moving him ahead of B's legend Rick Middleton for the most shorthanded goals in franchise history. It's tougher to make an opponent pay for hitting your teammate when that opponent can handle things in a fight. Boston Bruins forward Noel Acciari clearly was angered when he saw his teammate Joakim Nordstrom suffer a questionable hit by Detroit Red Wings winger Luke Witkowski. Detroit's Anthony Mantha recorded his first career hat trick and five-point game, and the Red Wings scored four times in the third period in a 6-3 win over the visiting Boston Bruins on Sunday. Mantha scored Detroit's first three goals and assisted on the final two as the club rallied from a 3-2 second-period deficit to win its season-best fifth straight game. Taro Hirose scored his first NHL goal, Dylan Larkin had a goal and an assist, and Tyler Bertuzzi notched three assists for the Red Wings, who won for the seventh time in their last eight games.
