Instead of making the trip to Chicago with his team-mates, Portland Trail Blazers center Jusuf Nurkic has spent his week in a hospital bed after suffering a compound fracture of his left tibia and fibula on Monday. It appears that Chicago Bulls forward Lauri Markkanen's season is over. Markkanen — who sat out of Chicago's 118-98 loss to the Portland Trail Blazers on Wednesday night — will miss the remainder of the season due to “extreme fatigue,” according to The Athletic's Shams Charania.
