Andrew Ladd's time with the New York Islanders has been difficult, to say the least. After being limited to just 26 games due to injury, the Islanders announced on Tuesday that Ladd now has a torn ACL and will be sidelined for at least the next five months. General manager Lou Lamoriello said Ladd will undergo surgery this week, and also specified that it is not the same leg that he previously injured. Continue to Article

The surging Pittsburgh Penguins are closing in on the top spot in their division. Teddy Blueger scored twice, Matt Murray made 33 saves and the Penguins rallied from an early two-goal deficit for a 5-2 victory over the New York Rangers on Monday night. Jordan Eberle and Brock Nelson scored to back Robin Lehner's fifth shutout of the season as the Islanders beat the Arizona Coyotes 2-0 Sunday. Nick Leddy and Brock Nelson also scored for New York, which had dropped two in a row and three of four overall. Continue to Article

Josh Bailey scored the tie-breaking goal with 3:57 remaining and added an insurance goal 83 seconds later as the New York Islanders rebounded from a pair of shutout losses and edged the host Philadelphia Flyers 4-2 Saturday afternoon. Bailey recorded his first goal in 13 games since Feb. 26, and the clutch tally moved the Islanders to within one point of the Washington Capitals for first place in the Metropolitan Division and lowered their magic number for clinching a postseason spot to eight. The win also occurred after the Islanders came off a 5-0 loss to Boston Tuesday and a 4-0 loss at Montreal two nights later. Continue to Article
