The Minnesota Wild are not far from a wild-card spot in a crowded Western Conference, but a series of disheartening losses is putting their playoff hopes in jeopardy, especially if things do not start turning around. Minnesota hopes to snap a three-game losing streak Saturday night when it hosts the skidding New York Rangers. Minnesota (33-30-8, 74 points) are three points back of Arizona for the last wild-card spot. Continue to Article

Pettersson did well to make him miss on the initial check, but Kreider spun around and caught the Calder candidate with an elbow flush to the face. Continue to Article

It's no coincidence the Oilers have cobbled together that record in the past 11 games since defenseman Andrej Sekera returned on Feb. 19 from a torn Achilles tendon sustained in the offseason. Simply put, having both Sekera and Oscar Klefbom in the lineup provides the Oilers the kind of blue-liners who make it easier for the forwards to make their offensive contributions.
