Steven Stamkos and the Tampa Bay Lightning turned a three-goal deficit into a milestone night. Stamkos tied Vincent Lecavalier for Tampa Bay's career lead in goals, Nikita Kucherov scored twice in the third period and the Lightning rallied to beat the Detroit Red Wings 5-4 on Thursday. Gustav Nyquist created plenty of buzz the Sunday night before the NHL trade deadline when the Sharks acquired him from the Detroit Red Wings. Since then, the 29-year-old forward – who before now had never been traded through his entire hockey career – has worked to acclimate to his new team. To little surprise, NHL commissioner Gary Bettman rejected Philadelphia Flyers forward Jakub Voracek's appeal, thus upholding Voracek's two-game suspension. Voracek, 29, sought to appeal that suspension for an interference hit on New York Islanders defenseman Johnny Boychuk. Boychuk essentially vowed revenge on Voracek, prompting the Flyers winger to accuse Boychuk of cutting a pro wrestling promo on him. Continue to Article

With a portrait of Jacques Plante hanging just a few feet away, Carey Price passed around the credit for his latest accomplishment. Price made 20 saves Tuesday night and became the winningest goaltender in the storied history of the Montreal Canadiens, who held off the Detroit Red Wings for a 3-1 victory.
