Those who think LeBron James is a better player than Michael Jordan ever was have a new statistic to strengthen their argument. Los Angeles Lakers star James moved ahead of Jordan into fourth in the NBA's all-time points list when he overhauled the former Chicago Bull great's total of 32,292 on Wednesday. It is unlikely to end the debate over who is the greatest of all time, though, with Jordan still ahead in championship wins – six to James' three – and MVP awards – five to James' four. On a night when the star forward scored nine points on 4-of-13 shooting, the Pistons got 70 bench points and 31 more from Andre Drummond in a 131-114 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves. Our second unit was fantastic tonight,'' Griffin said after Detroit's 10th victory in 12 games. Minnesota Timberwolves forward Taj Gibson had an early exit from Little Cesars Arena on Wednesday night after he got into it with Detroit Pistons center Andre Drummond. Gibson, while attempting to box Drummond out under the basket with just more than 10 minutes left in the fourth quarter, threw an elbow into Drummond's throat and sent him flying to the floor. The Detroit Pistons may be peaking at the right time, winning nine of 11 games to surge in the standings, and would probably feel confident about their chances if they match up with Toronto in the playoffs. The Pistons, though, will likely have to get past the Raptors with their best player on the court when the games truly matter. Blake Griffin scored 14 of his 27 points in the first quarter and Detroit finished with plays at both ends of the court to beat Toronto 112-107 in overtime on Sunday, taking advantage of Kawhi Leonard having the night off.
