Things have not been smooth for Los Angeles Lakers head coach Luke Walton this season. It feels like an open secret at this point that LeBron James would prefer if Walton were no longer the coach, and the team has had to issue assurances of confidence in Walton. The Lakers lost to the New Orleans Pelicans on Saturday night, 128-115, thanks in part to a poor defensive effort. Continue to Article

Warriors Under Review: Plenty of blame to go around in loss to Rockets originally appeared on nbcsportsbayarea.com OAKLAND – By eliminating them three times in the last four years, the Warriors can claim to own the Houston Rockets in the postseason. That doesn't mean they can, or should, dismiss the current trend in the regular season. The Warriors' regular-season losing streak against Houston was extended to four after a 118-112 debacle on Saturday. Continue to Article

OAKLAND - After emerging from the Warriors locker room Saturday night with a slight limp, saying he'll "be fine," Draymond Green seemed optimistic and sincere. What he doesn't know is whether that will apply to Monday, when the Warriors face the Hornets in Charlotte, or if recovery will take days or weeks after that. Green was hopping in pain before dropping to the floor after his left foot landed atop the right foot of Warriors center DeMarcus Cousins early in the fourth quarter of a 118-112 loss to the Houston Rockets. Even without NBA scoring leader James Harden, the Houston Rockets took it to Golden State from the very start. Eric Gordon scored 25 points with four 3-pointers, Chris Paul converted two free throws with 1:08 left on the way to 23, and the Rockets outplayed the Warriors without the ill Harden for a 118-112 victory Saturday night. Stephen Curry's 3 with 1:57 to play pulled the Warriors to 114-108 and his two free throws at 1:26 made it a four-point game before Houston came through at the line. Continue to Article
