Last night, the Philadelphia Flyers made a mess of it but still managed to beat the Detroit Red Wings 6-5 after blowing a four-goal third-period lead at home. A day later, the Flyers made sure not to make the same mistake twice, defeating the Red Wings in the second half of a back-to-back home-and-home 2-1 on Hockey Day in America on NBCSN. Frolik, Austin Czarnik, Travis Hamonic and Sam Bennett scored during a mid-game 17-minute span for Calgary, which avenged a 9-1 loss to Pittsburgh in October during the teams' other meeting this season. Back after serving a one-game suspension for swinging his stick at Philadelphia's Michael Raffl, Evgeni Malkin had a pair of third-period power-play goals for the Penguins. Continue to Article

A goaltender who was winless in his previous 21 decisions outplayed an All-Star down the stretch Friday night. Cory Schneider got his first win in nearly 14 months when Nico Hischier scored 3:19 into overtime, lifting the New Jersey Devils to a wild 5-4 victory over the slumping Minnesota Wild.
