Tampa Bay Lightning forward Nikita Kucherov is having the kind of season that should yield a number of awards, while the Eastern Conference powerhouse club has its eyes on the biggest prizes. Winners of five straight and seven of its last nine, Tampa Bay (44-11-4) opens a two-game road trip when it plays at the Columbus Blue Jackets at Nationwide Arena on Monday night. The Lightning, wearing their recently unveiled third uniform on Saturday night, beat Montreal for the third time this season and look to do the same to Columbus. Continue to Article

Tampa Bay
The Tampa Bay Lightning have been so much better than everyone else in the NHL this season, even the smallest flaw is pounced on by critics. With David Pastrnak out for an undetermined amount of time following tendon surgery on his left thumb, the Bruins' search for a top-6 winger capable of scoring goals and generating offense has taken on even more importance. It was top priority before Pastrnak fell and hurt himself last weekend and it's still the top priority now for a team that's been in the bottom third of the NHL in even-strength offense for most of the season. Certainly it leaves the Blue Jackets in a tough spot as they sit in a playoff spot in the Metro Division, but it also leaves other teams around the league envisioning what he would look like in their uniform. Tampa Bay
There were many fine (and not-so-fine) plays to take away from Tampa Bay's 6-0 onslaught of the Stars on Thursday, but this straight-up insulting display of puck control and finish by the Lightning captain was in a realm of its own. With the Bolts already up five-zip and on a power play near the end of the second frame, it was ankle-breaking time for Stamkos who buried his second of the game after sending Andrew Cogliano flying into the boards with a vicious head fake. Another angle shows the carnage up close and personal: There are two factors at play here that make this so ridiculous. Continue to Article
