Edmonton
Cam Talbot is lucky No. 8. The Philadelphia Flyers added Talbot to the fold late Friday night, acquiring the 31-year-old goaltender from the Edmonton Oilers in exchange for Anthony Stolarz. Should Talbot get into one of the Flyers' final 25 games — which he likely will — they will be the first team in NHL history to use eight goalies in a season. Continue to Article

NY Islanders
The New York Islanders' feel-good (/feel-bad-about-your-predictions) story presented a new wrinkle on Friday. The Islanders answered a “What if?” question few uttered heading into 2018-19: where are the Isles going to play their home games for the 2019 Stanley Cup Playoffs? Edmonton

The Edmonton Oilers put in that pretty good effort on Wednesday Night Hockey on NBCSN but still came away with the loss, 3-1 to the Pittsburgh Penguins. And the reason for that was a roughly four-minute stretch in the second period where they stopped doing what had made them successful in the rest of the game. Continue to Article

NY Islanders
With the Columbus Blue Jackets clinging to a 1-0 lead with less than five minutes left, the Washington Capitals finally started to make Sergei Bobrovsky work. The Columbus goalie was up to the task. Bobrovsky made 13 of his 20 saves in the third period, Nick Foligno got an insurance goal with 3:48 left and Artemi Panarin added an empty-netter with 10 seconds remaining in the Blue Jackets' 3-0 win over Washington on Tuesday night.
