Boston
One game into life without David Pastrnak for the foreseeable future, things were pretty okay with the Bruins. Certainly it's nothing to get carried away with because it's just a one-game example, and because they were playing one of the worst teams in the league in the down-on-their-luck Chicago Blackhawks. Best of all were the players that stepped up with Danton Heinen exploding for three points in his best game of the season, Jake DeBrusk snapping out of a 13-game goal-scoring drought with a second period game-winning strike and David Krejci making plays while stepping into Pastrnak's spot on the top power-play unit. Boston
Even before David Pastrnak went down with an injury on Tuesday, the Boston Bruins were a team that was short on scoring depth. All season their offense has been carried by the same four or five players, with Pastrnak being one of the best. Without him, it obviously makes the lineup even thinner and is going to put a lot more pressure on the likes of Patrice Bergeron, Brad Marchand, David Krejci, and Torey Krug to do even more. BOSTON -- It was a span of 13 games and over a month since Jake DeBrusk had scored a goal, so it had to feel like a weight had been lifted off his shoulders when he finally broke through his goal-scoring slump. DeBrusk scored Boston's fourth goal of the game in the second period of Boston's 6-3 win over the Chicago Blackhawks at TD Garden, and in doing so ended up with both the game-winner and a massive step toward regaining his own confidence. You just try to build from there and put your best foot forward," said DeBrusk. Continue to Article

Bruce Cassidy becomes second-fastest Bruins coach to earn 100 wins originally appeared on nbcsportsboston.com Bruce Cassidy's tenure as Boston Bruins head coach has been quite successful, and he accomplished an impressive feat with Tuesday's 6-3 win over the Chicago Blackhawks at TD Garden. The victory was the 100th of Cassidy's career in 166 games behind the B's bench, which makes him the second-fastest head coach in Bruins franchise history to reach that milestone. Tom Johnson is the quickest to reach 100 wins in Bruins history. Continue to Article

Boston
Highlights from Bruins' 6-3 win over Blackhawks originally appeared on nbcsportsboston.com FINAL SCORE: Bruins 6, Blackhawks 3 BOX SCORE BRUINS RECORD: 32-17-8 (72 points), 3rd in Atlantic Division FROM JOE HAGGERTY The Bruins needed somebody to step up with David Pastrnak out of the lineup, and on this night it was Danton Heinen. The Bruins winger scored his ninth goal of the season while parked out in front of the net and set up Boston's insurance goal when he fed a wide open Brad Marchand after picking up a rebound in front of the net. Heinen had a goal, three points, a plus-2 and three shots on net in a very active 11:16 of ice time and played his best game of the season. Continue to Article
