Leaning on his crutches, just six days after reconstructive surgery on his right knee, Mikko Koivu was asked if he had concern about his ability to return to the Minnesota Wild next season at age 36. Just as if he were corralling a puck with a quick flick of his stick on a faceoff, Koivu didn't flinch. Put all of that together and they look more likely to be a playoff team than not. Continue to Article

Coming off a tough loss, a two-hour flight and a miserable first period, the Philadelphia Flyers did what they've been doing for the last five weeks. James van Riemsdyk scored two goals, including the game-winner late in the third period, as the Flyers beat the Minnesota Wild 5-4 on Tuesday night. Sean Couturier and Claude Giroux each had a goal and an assist and Ivan Provorov also scored for the Flyers, who are 11-2-1 since Jan. 9. Continue to Article

This week, we will be exploring a possible trade deadline target from Monday through Friday and look into why they do and do not make sense for Washington to pursue. Today's target: Forward Marcus Johansson, 28, New Jersey Devils Why it makes sense The biggest question mark when it comes to trade deadline deals is chemistry. It doesn't matter how good a trade looks on paper, if the player can't build chemistry with the rest of the team, the move ultimately doesn't work. Continue to Article
