If the Toronto Maple Leafs were going to lose to the New York Rangers on Sunday, you'd expect a few reasonable explanations. Maybe the Rangers' red-hot top line of Mika Zibanejad, Mats Zuccarello, and Chris Kreider would light up the scoreboard, much like they've quietly been doing for weeks now. Perhaps the more-rested Rangers would take advantage of a Maple Leafs team coming off of an exciting overtime win against the Montreal Canadiens from Saturday. Continue to Article

Successful in his only previous shootout attempt, Tony DeAngelo tried the same approach. DeAngelo scored the decisive goal in the seventh round of the shootout and the New York Rangers rallied from two goals down in the third period to beat the Boston Bruins 4-3 on Wednesday night. New Jersey Devils fans came to the Prudential Center to jeer Ilya Kovalchuk. Tyler Toffoli scored twice in 35 seconds early in the third period to spark the Los Angeles Kings to a 5-1 victory over the Devils on Tuesday night. Toffoli, who had the overtime winner Monday against the New York Rangers, helped send the Kings to their third win in four games. Continue to Article

Toffoli's ninth goal of the season came moments after the Rangers' Mika Zibanejad rang the puck off the post behind Kings goaltender Jonathan Quick. Toffoli was mobbed by his teammates as Rangers netminder Henrik Lundqvist skated away in disgust. We were in it the whole game and we found a way to come back,'' Toffoli said. Continue to Article
