San Antonio
Two teams not rumored to be involved in major trade discussions on the eve of the deadline go at it on the court Wednesday night when the San Antonio Spurs battle the Golden State Warriors in Oakland, Calif. The game pits franchises that have combined to win eight of the last 20 NBA championships, with the Spurs having captured four from 1999-2007 and a fifth in 2014, while the Warriors have taken three of the last four. The Warriors (37-15) are favored to make it four titles in the last five years this season with a roster that features pending free agent Klay Thompson and potential free agent Kevin Durant, who can opt out of the final year of his deal this off-season. Golden State
Any story about the future of Kevin Durant has to start here: The man changes his mind. Or, look at it this way: Maybe Durant is thinking of leaving the Warriors right now, but what happens after another playoff run to a title, another finals MVP (maybe), when he reflects on how much he loves investing in Silicon Valley and being close to it, and when he dreams about opening the new Chase Center in San Francisco very close to where he lives in the city? Durant was dripping sweat as Warriors media relations ace Raymond Ridder tried persuading him to do what he'd so often done since arriving in July 2016: Take a few questions from local reporters. Durant shook his head and, barely breaking stride, kept walking, into and through the weight room, fading from view. Continue to Article

LeBron James joined a select group of NBA players to score 32,000 career points but nevertheless endured the most lopsided defeat of his career Tuesday as the Indiana Pacers routed the Los Angeles Lakers 136-94. Bojan Bogdanovic scored 24 points for the Pacers, who tied a franchise record with 19 three-pointers. James, playing his second game since suffering a groin injury in a Christmas Day win over Golden State, led the Lakers with 18 points, nine rebounds and seven assists. Continue to Article

Golden State
Los Angeles Lakers forward Michael Beasley released a statement to Yahoo Sports on Tuesday that disputes the reported postgame incident he allegedly had with head coach Luke Walton after Saturday night's loss to the Golden State Warriors. It was reported by several outlets that Beasley engaged in a verbal confrontation with Walton about playing unselfishly and that the exchange fell just short of a physical altercation. Beasley, in addressing the situation for the first time, denies it was such a heated incident. Continue to Article
