The Chicago Blackhawks might be a longshot to make the playoffs this season, but Patrick Kane is certainly doing his part to keep them competitive. The Dallas Stars opened the second half of the season in much the same way they wrapped up play prior to the All-Star break - producing little to no offense and getting spectacular goaltending. Friday's contest will be the finale of a six-game homestand for Dallas, that was wrapped around the break, with the Stars losing the first three outings before winning the next two, including a 1-0 victory over Buffalo on Wednesday in which goalie Ben Bishop turned away 30 shots to earn his third shutout of the season. "If we can get a 1-0 win, we'll take it, because some nights we're going to need some more 1/8goals 3/8 and these guys are going to be there for us," Bishop said, according to nhl.com, after securing the 27th shutout of his 12-year career.
