Minnesota
Two potential-laden young players hope to put recent issues with the referees behind them with the Phoenix Suns take on the Minnesota Timberwolves on the front end of a home-and-home sequence Sunday night in Minneapolis. Both teams will take the court shackled in losing streaks, and both believe the NBA refs are partly to blame. The Toronto Raptors are far ahead of the Memphis Grizzlies in the win column, but that does not always indicate how a game will be played. The Raptors needed a buzzer-beating layup by Pascal Siakam on Thursday night to pull out a 111-109 victory over the Phoenix Suns, who have the worst record in the Western Conference. Phoenix
Pascal Siakam banked in the winning shot at the final buzzer as the Toronto Raptors won their eighth consecutive home game with a 111-109 victory over the Phoenix Suns on Thursday. Siakam finished with 10 points and 12 rebounds, Serge Ibaka scored 22 points and Kyle Lowry had 16 points and nine rebounds for the Raptors, who have won six of their last seven contests. The Phoenix Suns figured Toronto guard Kyle Lowry was going to take the decisive shot. Pascal Siakam and the Raptors had other plans. Siakam scored the winning basket just before time expired, leading the Raptors to a 111-109 victory over the Suns on Thursday night. Continue to Article

Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson scored 31 points apiece, Kevin Durant had 27, and the hot-shooting Golden State Warriors routed the host Denver Nuggets 142-111 on Tuesday night. The Warriors set an NBA record for a first quarter by scoring 51 points. The previous record of 50 points was held by five teams, with the Phoenix Suns the last club to accomplish the feat on Nov. 10, 1990. Continue to Article
