Philadelphia
The Flyers are losing at a perturbing clip with performances that aren't exactly conducive for goalie success. With the Feb. 25 trade deadline getting closer and closer, the Flyers entered Wednesday 30th among 31 NHL teams at 15-22-6 and 36 points. The club is allowing the league's second-most goals per game (3.63), owns a minus-37 goal differential and has been outscored 96-61 since Nov. 13, a stretch in which the Flyers are 6-15-5. The Stars have said that they won't be trading either player, so a divorce probably isn't imminent. Continue to Article

Boston has won five games in a row and is hoping to end a long string of frustration against the Washington Capitals in a home game Thursday night. Washington (26-12-4) has won two in a row and is coming off a 5-3 victory over the slumping Philadelphia Flyers, which was their eighth straight loss. Washington beat Detroit on Sunday, which ended a three-game skid for the defending champions. Continue to Article

Philadelphia
Last season, the Capitals broke through and won their first title while the Flyers were bounced in the first round yet again. The Flyers are either severely underperforming or their core is simply on borrowed time before things start to come undone and a retool is performed by new general manager Chuck Fletcher. By Game 32 of the season, the Flyers had fired general manager Ron Hextall, assistant general manager Chris Pryor, head coach Dave Hakstol and assistant coach Gord Murphy. Continue to Article
