It won't be a normal night off for Sergei Bobrovsky on Thursday with the Nashville Predators in town. Instead of a clipboard and seat at the end of the bench, it appears the Columbus Blue Jackets starter will stay home to think about what he's done. The Blue Jackets announced Thursday morning that Bobrovsky will not be with the team after an “incident” in which the goaltender failed to meet the “expectations and values” that uphold and “define” the team's culture. As the Columbus Blue Jackets look to turn things around after dropping two of their last three games, they will be without goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky Thursday night when they host the Nashville Predators. The team announced just before their morning skate that Bobrovsky was basically being suspended for something that the club wouldn't go into detail about. An incident occurred in which Sergei failed to meet those expectations and values, so we made the decision that he would not be with the team for tonight's game. Continue to Article

Through the first month-and-a-half of the 2018-19 season the Nashville Predators were rolling along as one of the best teams in the NHL, just as they have over the previous two years. P.K. Subban played in just six games during that stretch (and none after Nov. 13), while Filip Forsberg has been sidelined since the end of November. It didn't take long for Columbus defenseman Seth Jones to go on offense. Jones scored 18 seconds into overtime and the Blue Jackets defeated the Florida Panthers 4-3 on Saturday night. Jones' overtime goal was his seventh, the most regular-season overtime goals among defensemen since the 2013-14 season, tying him with Oliver Ekman-Larsson. Continue to Article
