Four takeaways: Johnny Gaudreau stays hot as Blackhawks fall to Flames originally appeared on nbcsportschicago.com Here are four takeaways from the Blackhawks' 4-3 loss to the Calgary Flames at the United Center on Monday: 1. Johnny Gaudreau and Pacific Division struggles Going into the game, the Blackhawks knew they had to be aware at all times of where and when Gaudreau was on the ice. The Calgary Flames are fine with making memories, as long as they are the right kind. Going into a game Monday against the Chicago Blackhawks at United Center, they figure they could make it two memorable dates in a row. If New York Rangers coach David Quinn has one message for his team heading into Sunday's game at Arizona, it's this: Stay out of the penalty box. The young Bruins winger was one of the stars of Boston's 6-4 win over the Calgary Flames on Thursday night at TD Garden, and scored a pair of goals including the game-winner in the third period. DeBrusk had six shots on net and three blocked shots, and was very involved in everything going on with the Black and Gold in a high-scoring affair with the Flames. Continue to Article

It was DeBrusk that stepped up and scored a pair of goals in the Thursday night win and ended up with the third-period game-winner while firing a backhanded bid past Calgary goaltender Mike Smith. It's no coincidence that DeBrusk finds his offense and the B's overall offense puts up a big number with the six overall goals scored, as the young winger has been a key second source of B's goal-scoring for a couple of years now. In all it was a standout night with the two goals and a plus-1 rating, six shots on net, seven overall shot attempts and three blocked shots in 16:04 of ice time. Continue to Article
