With just a few games left before the halfway point of the season, the Philadelphia Flyers and the Florida Panthers get set to meet on Saturday night - and neither team is in playoff position. The Panthers, who will host the Flyers, are 15-15-6 with 36 points following a 5-3 home loss on Friday night to a team they are chasing in the Eastern Conference, the Montreal Canadiens. "We didn't make it that tough on (Montreal)," said Panthers forward Mike Hoffman, who had two assists. Continue to Article

Florida
The preseason feels like it was ages ago, but don’t be surprised if the Florida Panthers haven’t completely forgotten about it. On Friday night, the Panthers and Montreal Canadiens will go head-to-head for the first time since Max Domi split Aaron Ekblad open with a sucker punch in September. Philadelphia
It probably wasn’t exactly how the Tampa Bay Lightning had it drawn up, but they were able to win their fourth game in a row on Thursday night with a wild 6-5 overtime win against the Philadelphia Flyers. After 40 minutes on Thursday it looked like the Lightning were going to cruise to a blowout win with a three-goal lead entering the third period. It was there that Alex Killorn scored his 10th goal of the season to give the Lightning the win and keep their streak going. Continue to Article

Philadelphia
The NHL-leading Tampa Bay Lightning rebounded again following another dismal third period against the Philadelphia Flyers. Alex Killorn scored 18 seconds into overtime and the Lightning, after blowing a three-goal lead in the third, extended their point streak to 13 games Thursday night with a 6-5 win over the Flyers. ''In the grand scheme of things, it's another two points,'' Tampa Bay star Steven Stamkos said. Continue to Article

Philadelphia
The Philadelphia Flyers did not have a great second period in Tampa Bay on Thursday night, giving up three goals to a white-hot Lightning team to face a three-goal deficit heading to the third period. Not only does Giroux dangle through four Lightning defenders on his way to the goal, but what really makes this play is the little stick-lift on Lightning defender Ryan McDonagh to give him just enough room to finish the play and make the last move he needed to score. The Flyers may not be having the season they want (or the game they want on Thursday) but that goal is a thing of beauty no matter the situation. Continue to Article
