San Antonio
If the Rockets were so inclined, they could take the news regarding veteran point guard Chris Paul and his balky left hamstring as a relative positive, with a Friday afternoon MRI revealing a Grade-2 strain that will sideline Paul for a minimum of two weeks. The Rockets (16-15) had their season-high-tying five-game winning streak snapped on Thursday in Miami after Paul was lost to his latest in a troubling series of hamstring injuries. Without Paul, the Rockets coughed up a 16-point lead before rallying to reclaim their advantage in the fourth quarter only to fall 101-99 when Eric Gordon missed a 3-pointer at the buzzer. Just as the Rockets were getting on a roll, having won five in a row, the basketball gods struck down Chris Paul — he limped to the locker room in Miami Thursday night with what was later described to be a strained hamstring. Houston is 0-5 in games Paul has sat this season, and that’s not counting Thursday night when Miami took the lead on a 17-4 run third-quarter run with CP3 out, and the Heat held on to win. James Harden says the Houston Rockets will simply have to "figure it out" after Chris Paul injured his left hamstring in Thursday's loss to the Miami Heat. Experienced point guard Paul was hurt during the second quarter of the 101-99 loss, which snapped a five-match winning streak. After the game, head coach Mike D'Antoni said "it'll be some time" when asked about Paul's expected absence and the 33-year-old is set to have a scan back in Houston on Friday. Continue to Article

James Harden described the Houston Rockets' record-breaking three-point performance against the Washington Wizards as "pretty cool". The Rockets drained 26 efforts from beyond the arc in Wednesday's 136-118 rout at the Toyota Center, with Michael Carter-Williams nailing the landmark effort with 31.1 seconds left in the game. With the record in sight, the home-court crowd chanted "three" while the Rockets' starters, who were now on the bench, were also urging their team-mates to take the opportunities to shoot threes. Houston
Earlier this season, as the Wizards got off to another disappointing start, head coach Scott Brooks pointed to the fact his team didn't reach the .500 mark in 2016-17, the year they won 49 games, until their 32nd game. On Wednesday night, the Wizards played their 32nd game of the 2018-19 season. The Wizards have dropped six of their last seven and on Wednesday were blasted by the Rockets, 136-118.
