How well did Sean Couturier play in his first game back after missing the previous two and what does former Flyers goaltender Sean Burke think of Stolarz? Here are my observations from Scotiabank Saddledome: • The Flyers were playing with fire through the entire third period as they were forced to kill off eight minutes of power-play time. Chuck Fletcher has found his assistant general manager, and it's not at all unexpected. The Flyers on Wednesday hired Minnesota senior vice president of hockey operations Brent Flahr as their vice president and AGM. The Athletic's Michael Russo first reported the news Tuesday night. "Brent brings over 20 years of experience in the National Hockey League and an extraordinary amount of knowledge to our hockey club," Fletcher said in a statement released by the team. Andrew Ference ripped the party culture he believes dogged the Oilers during his tenure. Did late-night — err, early-morning — partying undo the potential of the previous iteration of the Edmonton Oilers?
