A day later, Brooklyn announced Dinwiddie agreed to a contract extension and the guard along with the rest of the Nets will attempt to get a season-high fourth straight win Friday night when they host the Washington Wizards. Dinwiddie was eligible for a four-year extension worth $47.5 million and multiple media outlets said the 25-year-old agreed to a three-year, $34 million deal with the third year being a player option. The news began to emerge after the Nets concluded practice but Dinwiddie essentially confirmed it on social media by tweeting, "The journey is just beginning, I'm thankful that (Brooklyn Nets) believe in me enough to give me a home." All eyes will be on the Charlotte bench on Friday night when the streaking Hornets host the tail-spinning New York Knicks. Hornets reserve Malik Monk earned the national spotlight Wednesday night when he twice got bopped on the back of the head by team owner Michael Jordan for prematurely celebrating what turned out to be a 108-107 home win over Detroit. Monk and fellow reserve Bismack Biyombo ran onto the court after teammate Jeremy Lamb had hit what appeared in their minds to be a game-winning jumper, only to be informed that there were still three-tenths of a second remaining. Puma Clyde’s accompanied the genesis of B-Boy culture in the Bronx and Starbury’s tried to initiate an affordable sneaker revolution, but another New York Knick is doing something else with sneakers. Thomas, alongside Knicks guard Damyean Dotson, orchestrated a sneaker drive at Sneakersnstuff in New York’s Meatpacking District. Friends and fans chummed it up with Thomas and Dotson, taking pictures and receiving autographs, and donated over 500 pairs of new and lightly worn sneakers, all of which went to the New York City Department of Homeless Services.
