Patric Hornqvist had a pretty simple explanation for how he was able to score three goals in just 2:47 during the Pittsburgh Penguins’ 6-3 win over the Colorado Avalanche on Tuesday night, setting a franchise record for fastest hat trick. “The two last ones, they were lucky ones,” said Hornqvist when talking about his record-setting night, which also happened to come on free hat night at PPG Paints Arena. Red Wings defenseman Mike Green delivered a solid check to Calvert, whose stick found its way onto the Red Wings bench. Continue to Article

Detroit Red Wings forward Tyler Bertuzzi will have a disciplinary hearing with the NHL’s Department of Player Safety on Monday for an incident that happened in Sunday’s game against the Colorado Avalanche. The incident in question was Bertuzzi removing his glove and punching Avalanche forward Matt Calvert during a scrum. It all started when Calvert was hit into the Red Wings’ bench, resulting in several players grabbing hold of him and restraining him from getting back into the play. Continue to Article
