The Toronto Maple Leafs and William Nylander have agreed to a six-year contract extension with an average annual value of $6.96 million. The months-long stand-off between Nylander’s camp and Maple Leafs management came to a dramatic conclusion, as TSN’s Darren Dreger reported the signing at 4:57 p.m. EST — three minutes before the restricted free agent signing deadline. Bruins coach Bruce Cassidy admitted that it wasn't an easy choice to make for a number of factors, but it will be Jaroslav Halak making the start for the B's vs. the Toronto Maple Leafs at Scotiabank Arena on Monday night.
