Kevin Durant delivered a season-high 44 points as the Golden State Warriors needed a wild finish to hold off the Sacramento Kings 117-116 on Saturday night. Two-time reigning NBA finals MVP Durant also had a season-high 16 free throws on 17 attempts for the Warriors, who won their second straight after snapping a four-game losing skid on Friday by beating Portland. Rose scored 25 points, Towns had 21 points and nine rebounds, and the Minnesota Timberwolves beat the Brooklyn Nets 112-102 on Friday. When Dwyane Wade spent two weeks away from the team on paternity leave he saw from afar the various problems the Miami Heat are experiencing at consistently getting offense. On Friday, Wade will make his penultimate appearance in his native Chicago and the Heat hope to get their offense going when they visit the Bulls. Memphis certainly got the benefit of the doubt on two questionable calls in the final second of the Grizzlies 104-103 victory in San Antonio. First, Rudy Gay was called for a foul on Marc Gasol‘s attempted game-winner — there certainly was body contact as Gay closed out that threw Gasol off balance.
