It's not a spot predicted by many for the Montreal Canadiens or the Washington Capitals before the season, but here they are heading into their game at Bell Centre on Monday, fighting for the second wild-card position in the Eastern Conference at the quarter point of the NHL season. The New Jersey Devils were happy to prove they can win away from home. Keith Kinkaid made 29 saves, Kyle Palmieri scored and the Devils beat the Philadelphia Flyers 3-0 on Thursday night. Joey Anderson also scored and Blake Coleman added an empty-netter for the Devils, who won consecutive games for the first time since opening the season with four straight victories. Taylor Hall gave the New Jersey Devils just what they needed after a dismal seven-game trip - an MVP-type performance. Hall scored the game-winning goal on a breakaway at 8:07 of the third period added an empty-net tally to cap a four-point night and lead the Devils to a 4-2 victory over the struggling Pittsburgh Penguins on Tuesday night.
