As Gordon Hayward worked his way back from a season-ending injury a year ago, all involved knew that the team's growth in his absence coupled with the usual changes that come about in a season would put the 28-year-old in a different role than the one he enjoyed for years in Utah. It was indeed a move that was more about the team than Hayward's play, which has been trending in the right direction.
