The Blackhawks' power play has been a hot discussion for far too long now. During Saturday's broadcast on NBC Sports Chicago, Eddie Olczyk passionately addressed the power play concerns and said the Blackhawks need to simplify it to the core - "old-fashioned meat and potatoes" - by developing a shoot-first mentality, which could help open up the passing lanes they've been trying to force that aren't there to begin with. Not only are they failing to score goals with the man advantage, but the Blackhawks are giving their opponents momentum by being completely unproductive during those opportunities. The Florida Panthers were supposed to be serious playoff contenders this season, and the New York Islanders, well, weren't. Despite their revolving door in goal, the Philadelphia Flyers are coming off a 3-0-1 western swing as they return home for the back end of a home-and-home set with the Arizona Coyotes Thursday night. Monday night in Glendale, Arizona, the Flyers, with Calvin Pickard playing his second straight game in goal, defeated the Coyotes 5-2 to finish off the trip that raised their record to 7-7-1. Pickard, one of four goalies used by Philly in the first 15 games, stopped 65 of 71 shots in going 1-0-1 in the last two games -- with Brian Elliott and Michael Neuvirth injured. Continue to Article

The Blackhawks on Tuesday morning fired three-time Stanley Cup-winning head coach Joel Quenneville after losing their fifth straight game and being swept on their Western Canada road trip. Quenneville is the second-winningest head coach in NHL history with 890 career wins and guided Chicago to the playoffs nine teams, the Stanley Cup Final three times and five Western Conference Finals. The question is, should the Flyers be one of them? Continue to Article
