The Blackhawks announced Friday that they have agreed to terms on a three-year, entry-level contract with defenseman Nicolas Beaudin that runs through the 2020-21 season. The Blackhawks have now locked up both of their first-round picks from 2018 in Adam Boqvist (No. 8 overall) and Beaudin (No. 27 overall). Wayne Simmonds has been to the Hockey Hall of Fame so many times he can no longer count. The Toronto-based museum is a slap shot distance away from Simmonds' hometown of Scarborough, Ontario, and his mother would take him and his younger brother when they were kids quite often. After 10-plus years spearheading a dynasty that included three Stanley Cups and nine playoff appearances, Joel Quenneville was fired from the Chicago Blackhawks, leaving the second-winningest coach in the NHL jobless.
