At a quick glance, the Nashville Predators leading the NHL with 24 standings points makes total sense. In defeating the Colorado Avalanche 4-1 to close out Wednesday’s NBCSN doubleheader, the Predators displayed a mix of the unexpected (Colton Sissons generating a hat trick) with what’s becoming run-of-the-mill (an explosive offense going cold against Pekka Rinne). Brock Boeser and Elias Pettersson did their best impersonation of the Sedin twins on Friday night. If you were watching the Vancouver Canucks battle the Colorado Avalanche on Friday night and thought Daniel and Henrik Sedin were still playing for the ‘Nucks, I wouldn’t blame you. Similar thoughts crossed my mind when current members of the team, Brock Boeser and Elias Pettersson, teamed up to score this Sedins-style goal early in the second period. Continue to Article

The Colorado Avalanche star met the Pittsburgh Penguins captain through trainer Andy O’Brien when he was 15. “We have a good thing going,” MacKinnon said. As part of one the best lines in hockey this season, MacKinnon is tied for third in NHL scoring with nine goals and 18 points. Continue to Article
