The Chicago Blackhawks have fired head coach Joel Quenneville and named Jeremy Colliton as his replacement, the NHL team announced on Tuesday. It appears that Pekka Rinne will finish his career in the place it started. The Nashville Predators locked up the 36-year-old netminder on a two-year extension, a lead that will pay him $10 million over its course ($6 million in 2019-20, $4 million in 2020-21). If you were watching the Vancouver Canucks battle the Colorado Avalanche on Friday night and thought Daniel and Henrik Sedin were still playing for the ‘Nucks, I wouldn’t blame you. Whatever they were sipping on, the Preds were absolutely out of their collective minds during the first period of their clash with the Tampa Bay Lightning, busting out a pair of ghastly goals 14 minutes apart to take a two-zip lead into the break. With big ol’ Braydon Coburn draped all over his anatomy, Turris reacted to the Mattias Ekholm point shot the same way any of us would.
