For the second time inside a calendar year, a bone-crushing hit from an opponent will see the Toronto Maple Leafs superstar miss an extended period of time with a shoulder injury. The Maple Leafs announced on Monday that Matthews, the team’s leading scorer with 10 goals and 16 points, will miss a minimum of four weeks. Here are three reasons why the Caps lost. Washington took a 1-0 and a 2-1 lead, but each time Toronto was able to tie the game off a deflection. Continue to Article

For the first 40 minutes, the Blackhawks and Maple Leafs played some entertaining hockey. There were seven total goals and a pair of lead changes, which included three unanswered goals by Toronto after Chicago had scored the first two. The Maple Leafs and Blackhawks exchanged goals three times, highlighted by three in the final minute in a half from Patrick Kane and Auston Matthews, then Kane again within a 56-second span.
