The Los Angeles Rams canceled practice Friday after a wildfire forced about 20 players and coaches to evacuate their homes. The Rams (8-1) will cram their normal Friday preparations into a workout at the University of Southern California on Saturday before they face the Seattle Seahawks at the Coliseum on Sunday. Just one day after the Rams were stunned by a mass shooting less than five miles from their training complex in Thousand Oaks, they were forced to make big changes in their normal game-week routine by two wildfires burning in Ventura and Los Angeles counties. David Moore tried his best not to let the final pass in Seattle's loss to the Los Angeles Chargers last week bother him for long. It's not easy when it's a throw that could have potentially tied the game and forced overtime, but instead bounced off Moore's shoulder and fell incomplete on the final play of Seattle's 25-17 loss. It was shown on seemingly every TV broadcast playing highlights of the game , and while it would have been an exceptionally difficult catch after getting tipped by a Chargers defensive back, Moore wishes he could have made the grab. Seahawks first-round pick Rashaad Penny has struggled to produce over the first half of his rookie season. The former San Diego State running back currently sits third on Seattle’s depth chart as Chris Carson has cemented the job as the team’s starter and Mike Davis has proven to be a productive second option in the team’s rotation. Although the Rams hadn’t lost a game outright all season until the team’s 45-35 loss in New Orleans on Sunday, Los Angeles has covered the spread only once in its past six games, going 1-4-1 during that stretch. The only team the Rams have covered against with a winning record was the Chargers back in Week 3. While Seattle has long been known for its distinct home-field advantage because of the noise its crowd is consistently able to generate, the Seahawks come into this one having gone 8-3 straight up over their last 11 road games. It's become clear through the first half of this season the Seattle Seahawks offense functions best when running back Chris Carson is getting the bulk of the carries. Seattle coach Pete Carroll said Wednesday that Carson would not practice and his status for Sunday's NFC West matchup was uncertain.
