Buffalo
The two teams with the worst records in the NHL's Eastern Conference last season will meet in a home-and-home series that starts Thursday night at Canadian Tire Centre. The Buffalo Sabres (6-4-2) will be coming off their best October in seven years when they visit the Ottawa Senators (4-5-2) in the first game of a back-to-back set that concludes Saturday afternoon in Buffalo. The Sabres -- who finished in the conference cellar, five points back of the Senators in 2017-18 -- have gone five games without a regulation-time loss. Continue to Article

Sometimes all it takes is the force of a large wooden paddle to stop a heater in its tracks, though – something like the one Buffalo Sabres goaltender Carter Hutton laid down on Tuesday. With the Sabres defence more scrambled than a Sunday breakfast, Lindholm found himself with the puck on his stick, a wide-open net, and no blue sweater within six feet. Continue to Article

Buffalo
For the second time this month, the Detroit Red Wings and the Columbus Blue Jackets will square off on Tuesday night. The teams met in the second opener on Oct. 4 in Detroit and the Blue Jackets came away with a 3-2 victory in overtime. The first month of the season has gone much better for the Blue Jackets (6-4-0) than for the Red Wings (2-7-1). Continue to Article
