San Jose
Tuesday’s game in Nashville seemed like it could have been a potential Western Conference Final preview between the San Jose Sharks and Predators, and for 50 minutes it looked like the Predators were going to continue to assert their dominance as the elite team in the conference. The Sharks scored three consecutive goals in the final 10 minutes of regulation, including two less than 40 seconds apart to erase a two-goal deficit, to come back for a stunning 5-4 win. Brent Burns‘ goal with just 2:52 to play proved to be the game-winner, and it was made possible thanks to quick goals from Brendan Dillon and Joe Pavelski just a few minutes earlier to tie the game. For the third time in just as many games, the San Jose Sharks entered the third frame of Thursday night's tilt with a 2-1 lead. Logan Couture scored a hat trick and the power play looked the best it has all season as Team Teal's 5-1 victory over the Buffalo Sabres. Auston Matthews of the Toronto Maple Leafs isn't the only goal-scorer lighting it up in the NHL. Take a look at Kyle Palmieri of the New Jersey Devils. Palmieri scored two goals for the third straight game and the Devils rallied from their first deficits of the season to beat the San Jose Sharks 3-2 on Sunday. Continue to Article

Of course, Joe Pavelski and Evander Kane scoring two goals a piece was a big boost for the Sharks offensive attack. Tuesday's tilt was, without a doubt, a full team effort from the San Jose Sharks. After the win, Pavelski told NBC Sports' Keith Jones the team's success on Tuesday could be attributed to pucks bouncing in the Sharks' favor, and the fact that "guys made a few plays along the way." Plays, for example, like when linemate Kevin Labanc set the captain himself up for a goal up close early in the game. Continue to Article

The Flyers might have put on the pressure early Tuesday night, and the crowd might have been extra excited with the arrival of their googly eyed new mascot, Gritty. Sharks coach Peter DeBoer threw his offensive lines into the blender ahead of the team's game in Philadelphia, and the changes brought out the best in the San Jose squad. Joe Pavelski and Evander Kane scored two goals apiece, and the power play scored twice -- yes, the power play finally scored a goal -- as Team Teal skated to a convincing 8-2 victory.
