Dave Hakstol pays little attention to outside noise. At 4-6-0, the Flyers have their most regulation losses through the first 10 games of a season since 2013-14, when they started 3-7-0. Hakstol, in his fourth season, this one bringing the highest of expectations, delivered what sounded like a real challenge to his players. Continue to Article

MacKinnon was the subject of this fawning piece on Saturday, and he did his part by extending his season-opening point streak to nine games (now 15 points), as he collected a primary assist. Sharks coach Peter DeBoer wasn't overly concerned when his team struggled to get wins on an early road trip despite controlling play for much of the time. San Jose was able to put it all together on a two-game homestand that showed what this team could be capable of achieving this season. Brent Burns scored San Jose's first goal from a defenseman this season and Logan Couture got his fourth in two games to lead the Sharks past the New York Islanders 4-1 on Saturday night.
