The Denver Broncos may have lost a respected voice when they traded former captain Demaryius Thomas to the Houston Texans on Tuesday, but they certainly didn't lose any of their gift of gab. ''I don't flinch from situations like this,'' declared rookie receiver Courtland Sutton , whose emergence as a big-play threat made the 30-year-old Thomas more valuable to general manager John Elway as trade bait than a tutor. The haste with which the Texans responded to the season-ending injury of receiver Will Fuller not only resonated within their Houston locker room, it reverberated throughout the league. Instead of hoping that internal options would suffice with just one game remaining before their bye, the Texans on Tuesday traded for Broncos veteran receiver Demaryius Thomas to fill the void left by Fuller (32 receptions, 503 yards, four touchdowns) sustaining a right ACL tear last Thursday against the Miami Dolphins. When the Broncos traded wide receiver Demaryius Thomas to the Texans on Tuesday, General Manager John Elway said the team made the move because they wanted to give more playing time to their young wideouts.
