Brent Burns' power-play goal with 2:52 remaining rallied San Jose from a two-goal deficit as the Sharks scored three straight goals during the last eight minutes to beat the Predators 5-4. Ten minutes into the third period on Oct. 14, the New Jersey Devils were nursing a 3–2 lead over San Jose when goalie Keith Kinkaid snared a slapshot for his 30th save, prompting a television timeout. It's been a little over two weeks since forward Joe Thornton left the San Jose Sharks five-game road trip. Thornton plans to accompany the rest of the team on their upcoming three-game road trip, which kicks off Tuesday night against the Nashville Predators.
