Orlando
For the first time, Joel Embiid squared off against Westtown School (West Chester) product Mo Bamba when the Sixers hosted the Magic in preseason action Monday. The two big men will likely meet much more down the road in the Eastern Conference, but Embiid bested the rook in the box score and the scoreboard. Continue to Article

Markelle Fultz is a completely different player than the version with the injured shoulder and broken shot we saw as a rookie - it's impossible to imagine Fultz making four jumpers (including a three-pointer) last season, as he did in Monday's 120-114 win over the Orlando Magic (see story), pulling the trigger with no hesitation. After signing a four-year, $76 million contract in July, the 23-year-old forward says the responsibility for turning around the fortunes of the Orlando Magic is on him as much as anyone. ''I'm here to spearhead, to make sure it's all-systems-go and make sure everybody is fighting every single night,'' Gordon said Monday at the team's media day. Continue to Article
