This was not how the Flyers wanted to treat their fans to a home opener. The Sharks scored two goals in a span of 11 seconds early in the first period, and from there the Flyers never recovered in an 8-2 drubbing. Heading into the Blackhawks' home opener Sunday against the Toronto Maple Leafs, Toews has produced goals in the first two games of the season for the first time in his career. Ilya Kovalchuk has an Olympic gold medal but he is back in the NHL to add the one thing missing from his stellar career — a Stanley Cup. Ironically, Kovalchuk's return to the league is with the Los Angeles Kings, who denied him a chance to win a title in 2012 when they beat the New Jersey Devils in the Stanley Cup Final.
