Boston
After an eight-hour flight back from Sweden on Sunday following a 5-2 season-opening loss to the New Jersey Devils, the Oilers have been practicing in Boston in preparation for Thursday night's game against the Bruins. "The results weren't what we wanted but the input and the process leads to results and we're more concerned about that right now," Edmonton coach Todd McLellan said Monday after his team practiced at the Bruins facility. The Bruins have moved the start time of their game this Saturday against the Detroit Red Wings at TD Garden to 3 p.m. The Bruins were originally scheduled to play at 7 p.m., but the start was moved up after the start time for Game 1 of the ALCS between the Red Sox and Houston Astros at Fenway Park was announced to be 8:09 p.m. Continue to Article

Boston
The Boston Bruins have had one of the NHL’s most dominant lines over the past two years in the trio of Patrice Bergeron, Brad Marchand, and David Pastrnak, a group that has put some video game type numbers on the board. Over the past two years alone the Bruins outscored teams by a 54-35 margin and attempted more than 60 percent of the total shot attempts when they were on the ice during 5-on-5 play. Three games into the 2018-19 season and they are still dominating, and it continued on Monday in their 6-3 win over the Ottawa Senators. Continue to Article

Boston
Patrice Bergeron missed the entire exhibition season and most of training camp recovering from back spasms that followed offseason groin surgery. The Bruins forward had his fourth career hat trick, scoring his first goal just 30 seconds into the game, and Tuukka Rask stopped 28 shots for his first win of the season to help Boston beat the Ottawa Senators 6-3 in its home opener on Monday. Two games after the Bruins lost the season opener to the Stanley Cup champion Capitals 7-0, allowing a goal just 24 seconds in, Bergeron opened their home season in similar fashion. Boston
GOLD STAR: Patrice Bergeron scored the first goal of the game on the first shift of the game, and didn't let up until he'd finished with the first Bruins hat trick on opening night since Cam Neely did it during his Hall of Fame career. Bergeron finished with three goals and four points along with a plus-3 rating, and also pulled off one of the all-time elite passes when he flipped a backhanded saucer pass to David Pastrnak crashing to the net for a third period strike. For good measure Bergeron finished with four shots on net, six shot attempts and won 14-of-24 face-offs while playing his typically brilliant game at both ends of the ice. Continue to Article
