Calgary
Calgary Flames coach Bill Peters is seeing a payoff for moving newcomer Elias Lindholm onto the Flames' top line. Lindholm scored his first two goals with Calgary and the Flames scored four unanswered goals in the third period for a 7-4 win over the Vancouver Canucks on Saturday night. The Swede, acquired from the Carolina Hurricanes in a trade at the June draft, scored a power-play goal that was the eventual game-winner at 14:28 of the third period. Continue to Article

''I thought we played a pretty good game,'' Subban said. Continue to Article

Pekka Rinne was quite sharp through a fairly tightly-played game, while P.K. Subban scored what was truly (though not technically) the difference-maker by beating Henrik Lundqvist with a howling shot. It looked like the Rangers might draw a key late power-play opportunity while down 2-1, but with the penalty delayed, New York ended up with too many men on the ice. Continue to Article

Nashville
The Nashville Predators are widely considered one of the teams likeliest to contend for the Stanley Cup this season. The New York Rangers are ... not. The Rangers embarked upon a rebuilding project late last season, finishing 34-39-9 and in last place in the Metropolitan Division. Continue to Article
