Capitals' forward Tom Wilson was issued a 20-game suspension for his hit on St. Louis Blues center Oscar Sundqvist, the NHL Department of Player Safety announced on Wednesday. Unless Wilson appeals and the suspension is reduced, he will serve one of the longest suspensions in NHL history. The suspension is the longest the NHL has handed out since 2016, when former Capitals defenseman Dennis Wideman was suspended 20 games for making contact with an official as a member of the Calgary Flames.
