CC Sabathia has a contract incentive for 2018 which would pay him $500,000 if he completed 155 innings. Coming in to today’s game against the Tampa Bay Rays he had 148 innings under his belt. A really good shot as the game developed, actually, as the Yankees built up an 11-0 lead through the top of the sixth and Sabathia took the mound in the bottom of the sixth having thrown only 55 pitches while twirling a one-hit shutout. Aaron Hicks injured his left hamstring running up the first-base line in the Yankees’ 4-1 win over the Tampa Bay Rays on Monday night, another concern for New York heading into next week’s AL wild-card game. Hicks’ 11th-inning double on Saturday drove Didi Gregorius with the run that clinched a postseason berth, and on Sunday the Yankees learned Sunday that Gregorius had torn cartilage in his right wrist during his headfirst slide across the plate. Roberto Osuna was not greeted kindly by Toronto Blue Jays fans. In his first appearance back at the Rogers Centre, the welcome former Blue Jays’ closer Roberto Osuna received was anything but warm. Yulieski Gurriel of the Astros and Loudres Gurriel of the Blue Jays made MLB history on Friday, becomming the first pair of brothers to register multi-homer games on the same day. Loudres didn't take long to mash two dingers for Toronto, hitting one in the first inning and one in the fourth.
