Josh Donaldson, the 2015 American League MVP who hasn't played in the majors since May 28 due to a left calf strain, reportedly was dealt from the Toronto Blue Jays to the Cleveland Indians on Friday. Multiple media outlets reported Wednesday that the Blue Jays placed the 32-year-old third baseman on waivers, and Yahoo Sports' Jeff Passan reported Friday evening that a deal was completed with the Indians. It didn't take Gio Gonzalez long to get to his new team. The Milwaukee Brewers got a proven left-handed starter for their stretch run, acquiring Gonzalez from the Washington Nationals on Friday night for two minor leaguers and international slot money. Brewers outfielder Christian Yelich hit for the cycle in his first five at-bats on Wednesday night against the Reds. Yelich hit a pair of singles in his first two at-bats, homered in the fifth, doubled in the sixth, before hitting a game-tying triple in the top of the seventh.
