Once they got behind closed doors in the clubhouse, the Houston Astros showered Justin Verlander with champagne. Verlander pitched just well enough to earn his 200th career win and the Astros hit five home runs, beating the Oakland Athletics 9-4 Sunday to retake sole possession of the AL West lead. The Minnesota Twins have again placed right-hander Ervin Santana on the 10-day disabled list in a flurry of moves announced by the team on Sunday. Santana made five starts since returning from the DL, but is still struggling with symptoms from an injury to his third finger on his pitching hand.
