The Baltimore Orioles haven't had many shining moments this season - except against the New York Mets. Chris Davis, Adam Jones and Tim Beckham each homered to back a strong performance by starter Andrew Cashner, and the Orioles beat New York 6-3 on Tuesday night to snap a five-game skid. Jacob deGrom struck out 12 and the New York Mets backed him in a big way, hitting five home runs while battering Luis Severino and the New York Yankees 8-5 Monday night. Ahead of Monday night’s game against the Mets, the Yankees announced that starter CC Sabathia has been placed on the 10-day disabled list with inflammation in his right knee. The move allows the club to open up a spot on the 25-man roster for pitcher George Kontos, whose contract has been selected from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
